Second Life is an online game that, as the name implies, lets you create and live a virtual “second life”. While lots of games try to transport us to fantasy worlds with all sorts of mystical creatures, aliens, or other fictional settings, Second Life is different. Unlike most games, the goal of Second Life is realism, not creating a new world from someone’s imagination. It’s basically creating a new virtual reality based in the reality we already live in.
In Second Life, you can create your life the way you want it to be or wish it would have been. Your character can shop in stores, interact with other people, go to work, have pets, and just about anything else you could do in real life… but in the virtual world of the game.
Realism is the whole point of Second Life. The best part is, the game is completely free, and you will be able to do an infinite number of different things in it. The only catch is that some things, like having your own house or buying a private island, have an additional cost attached. But the game is still completely enjoyable without paying any real money.
